		<description><![CDATA[In the US there has been much deferred maintenance of infrastructure.  Thousands of bridges, smaller dams and other works could fail, and have done so in the recent past: the major motorway bridge in Minneapolis, MN, for example.  So this example of the two rail lines to Scotland makes me question what the state of other infrastructure is in UK.

I also wonder how much flammable and toxic cargo is carried by rail, and what the compound probability of a derailment such as Dave described affecting a goods train with consequent explosions or contamination.]]></description>
