standard New scholarships offered for MSc/MA Programmes in Risk

IHRR in conjunction with Collingwood College, is offering new scholarships for the Risk Masters.

The scholarships, made possible thanks to a generous donation from a Durham alumnus, are open to applicants commencing their studies in 2014 and who are wishing to study one of the courses below:

Scholarship Details

One International Scholarship which will provide:

  1. full payment of tuition fees
  2. full payment of accommodation charges along with a termly stipend amount up to a total value of £11,157.00
  3. one return flight to the UK up to the value of £950
  4. an arrival allowance of £600
  5. Membership of Collingwood Middle Common Room.

Applicants for this scholarship must be able to demonstrate that they intend to use the skills and knowledge gained for international and humanitarian purposes and will need to outline the ways in which they intend to do this in their scholarship application form.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Be classed as overseas for the purpose of tuition fees
  2. Have made an academic application for a place on one of the eligible courses. Full details of the postgraduate academic application process can be found at www.durham.ac.uk/postgraduate/apply .
  3. Have completed and submitted a scholarship application form which clearly outlines the ways in which you intend to use the skills and knowledge gained for international and humanitarian purposes.

Both the academic and the scholarship application must have been completed and submitted by the application deadline date of 1st June 2014.

Four tuition fee scholarships which will provide:

  1. Payment of the £6,200 tuition fee
  2. Membership of Collingwood College Middle Common Room

To be eligible to be considered for one of these scholarships applicants must:

  2. Have completed and submitted a scholarship application form

Both the academic application and the scholarship application must have been completed by the deadline date of 1st June 2014.

Recipients of the Risk Masters Scholarships: IHRR and Collingwood College will be expected to contribute to the Collingwood College life, which includes presenting your research and work at college events at least once during your course and writing about your work for college publications.

Selection

Applications will be considered by a panel of senior academic staff at the University.
